W.H.I.P.

WHIP (Work Hath Interpolated my Personhood) is a rolling collection of figurines honoring working class occupations while also holding the struggle to see oneself as valuable outside of one’s work identity or contribution to society, especially as a Black person.

Hand crocheted figurines, filled with heirloom, Brooklyn-grown cotton are captured with an item from their occupation, positioned in a way where they can be held and seen softened despite the hard wearing reality of their daily work.
